Gold Standard approves a new methodology for livestock emissions reductions

Gold Standard has approved a groundbreaking new methodology for systems that capture methane produced by cattle and render those emissions neutral in situ through conversion into gases with lower global warming potentials (e.g. carbon dioxide) – such as ZELP’s methane mitigation technology.

The methodology was initiated by ZELP and developed in partnership with TREES Consulting LLC. It will be instrumental in supporting the creation and deployment of systems that reduce emissions in the livestock industry, whilst helping protect animal welfare and ensuring global food security.
