ZELP had a strong presence at the 9th International Greenhouse Gas & Animal Agriculture Conference, with two invited contributions showcasing ZELP Sense – our field deployable device for continuous emissions measurements in cattle.
In the Global Methane Hub Showcase Session, ZELP’s VP of Engineering Jordan McRae, presented key product milestones achieved so far, including:
– Good accuracy versus respiratory chambers
– Integration of DMI estimation
– Proven device robustness and animal welfare validation in both barn and grazing settings
At the joint ASGGN & ICAR Feed & Gas Workshop, ZELP’s Lead Animal Scientist Riccardo Bica, shared how ZELP Sense can support methane mitigation research efforts. For example, by providing fast, accurate and low-cost measurements, ZELP Sense can be used to help identify lower-emitting animals, an important step for breeding programs aiming to reduce livestock greenhouse gas emissions.
