ZELP Sense wins the BSAS Innovation Award 2025

ZELP has been awarded the BSAS Innovation Award 2025, recognising our work to make greenhouse gas measurement in livestock systems more practical, scalable and accurate.

Last week at the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) conference, ZELP’s Lead Animal Scientist, Riccardo Bica, presented ZELP Sense – our low-cost, easy-to-use device that accurately measures methane and carbon dioxide emissions from individual cows, both in housed and pasture settings.

Reliable real-world measurement is a critical step for the livestock sector. By enabling consistent, on-animal emissions data in everyday farm conditions, this technology supports better decision-making and helps accelerate the transition to lower-emission livestock farming.

We are incredibly proud that Riccardo’s presentation, and the wider team’s work behind it, was recognised with the BSAS Innovation Award. We are also grateful for the continued support of the Global Methane Hub, which has helped us advance the impact this technology can deliver.
