ZELP has been named an inaugural winner of the Terra Carta Design Lab, an initiative founded by HRH The Prince of Wales (now His Majesty King Charles III) and Sir Jony Ive, delivered in conjunction with the Royal College of Art (RCA) to recognise high impact and commercially viable solutions to the climate crisis.
The Terra Carta Design Lab invited current and former RCA students to develop credible, sustainable concepts with real-world climate impact. From 125 submissions, four winners were selected. Each winner received £50,000 in funding and personal mentorship from Sir Jony Ive, former Chief Design Officer at Apple.
Commenting on the winning projects, Ive said: “All the Terra Carta Design Lab winners have ideas and designs that deserve to be developed. The ingenuity and determination of these designers have produced some extraordinary creative responses, and they now embark on the journey to turn these great ideas into practical solutions.”
ZELP’s work focuses on developing wearable technology for cattle, designed to measure and mitigate methane emissions, to support more climate-resilient, profitable livestock farming.
We are grateful for the recognition and excited to continue building on this momentum as we turn innovative design into measurable impact.
